Message Seems like so many people have had #5 and #6 cylinders cooked due to poor cooling from flashing in the water jacket and the high turbo heat. When does this become feasible as a preventive measure while the engine is out for other service? Engine has about 75K, with no issues that are evident. Looking for opinions on where to draw the line on taking the engine apart to correct this? My biggest problem is that once its apart might as well install new rings and bearings..... why not forged pistons? rods? I dont want to throw money away, but would rather do some preventative stuff now to avoid problems later. Taking the engine out is a big deal, would rather NOT do it often ;-)

Thanks for your opinions
